API call limit

Introduction

The TraceParts API supports millions of calls every month. To provide the best quality of service, we limit the API call usage.

Call limit

TraceParts has a 6,000 call limit for one rolling hour, by default. This limit is for the entire set of endpoints linked to an API key, but some endpoints might have a specific limit or another rolling period. TraceParts can offer support for some tips in order to reduce the number of calls. Depending on your needs, some endpoints could be better to use than other ones.

The 429 HTTP response code indicates you reach the limit.

Increasing the limit

If after reviewing your current usage or future project requirements you believe a higher call limit is required, you may request an extension. TraceParts will then review the request and may, entirely at its sole discretion, grant an increase, which will be subject to its internal capacity and a predetermined maximum ceiling.
